Katherine & Tyler first met at the Coffee House in downtown Lincoln. Of course we had to photograph at the coffee house on there wedding day. Katherine and Tyler brought there own style to the wedding. The groomsmen opted out of wearing the basic tux shoes for converse and the ladies attire was a black Marilyn Monroe style dress. As an illustrative photographer I'm always trying to a story and feeling in my images. Before the wedding we talked about recreating an image of Marilyn Monroe standing above a street vent. I mention we could use some small fans, we finally decided on leaf blowers. This wedding party and the images we created, remind me why I love photography. I could not forget to thank Jeremy with Isis Photography for hanging with the video light.
We Nebraskans will probably remember June 2010 as the month of never ending rain. June 12th in Lincoln looked to be no exception and with an outdoor wedding and reception planned, there was some cause for concern. Lindsay and Matt were blessed on their wedding day, however, to have the rain clear before the festivities began! I should probably say I was blessed because we were able to carry on with our jam-packed day of outdoor shooting. I knew upon first meeting them, and then confirmed it shooting their engagement portraits, that Lindsay and Matt are a creative couple. Their attention to fun details helped to make for some awesome photos.
I wanted to share photos from the wedding I shot two weeks ago. Carolyn and Andrew are such a laid back couple. They were surrounded by friends and family on their special day. Andrew waited until the ceremony to see his bride: how romantic! One of my favorite parts of the day was being able to take advantage of the car show in the church parking lot for some photos in front of a classic car. We stopped by Mahoney Park for some location portraits before heading to the reception. Here's hoping Carolyn and Andrew had a wonderful honeymoon in Seattle!
I couldn't have asked for a better couple for the first wedding of the year. Erika and Corey couldn't have ask for a better day for a wedding. It was filled with tons of energy and tons of emotion! The ceremony was at North American Martyrs in Lincoln. Our location images started at a golf course near by and continued at the Historical Haymarket for some urban wedding portraits. The party did not stop there as we proceeded to the reception at the Holiday Inn! The live music was provided by the KC All Stars, who kept the dance floor full all night. I had a blast at your wedding. Stay tuned for more images.
Elizabeth and Jason wanted something different. One green couch from the 1970's, a downtown Lincoln alleyway and 16 of the craziest wedding party members made it easy to capture cool illustrative images . Thanks again; you guys rock!
Kelly & Casey were married a couple weeks ago. The wedding party was a blast. A good clue for a photographer is how the rehearsal dinner went. All the groomsmen were accounted for but, the rumor was it was a late night for the wedding party. Our location portraits were done in a park close to the church. As you see below the bride and bridesmaids chased down some birds by the lake while the groomsmen needed a image that looked like they were in a GQ magazine. See ya soon. Corey
Summer is here which for some means relaxing by the waterfront. Emily & Jason wanted some images at the beach. The Pacific Ocean was too far so the next best thing was Branched Oak Lake. The water was blue and the sun was warm. I had fun; see ya soon.
Cris & Laura were married on April 4th. The wedding was at St. Paul Methodist. Within minute of the ceremony the rain started to come down. Plan B for location portaits of the wedding party was at the StarLite Lounge. Much thanks to the staff at the Starlite Lounge. The blue colors of the wedding party looked great in the Starlite Lounge.
